Top Eight Reasons to Apply for a B2B PR Job at BLASTmedia

I'm certainly glad I did

As I recently wrapped up my fifth year here at BLASTmedia, and we are in the middle looking for more talent with the continued company growth, I thought I’d take a few minutes to explain why BLAST is the best PR and Social Media agency to work for (okay, fine, “for which to work”).

Many times we get asked from potential clients “why BLAST?” when it comes to how we separate ourselves from every other agency, but we may not always answer the same question for folks out there exploring the PR and Social Media job market. Having already covered things to consider when applying for a job in PR and how to go about getting a job in PR, here are my top 8 reasons why talented PR professionals with experience in B2B PR should apply for a B2B PR job at BLASTmedia.

  1. Too Legit To Quit
I was going to save this one for later, but I might as well come out with my guns blazin’ – with a 12-year track record of delivering national media coverage for our clients, BLAST gets results. If you’ve checked out our client case studies on our site or the numerous client success posts on our blog, you’ll see that BLAST knows how to get PR and social media results for our clients. You can be a part of a team or you can be a part of a championship team. BLAST is by far the latter.
  2. Helping Clients Achieve Their Ultimate Goal
While increasing awareness or Web traffic, selling products, or increasing the bottom line are many of our clients short- and mid-term goals that we help them achieve, some of our clients’ ultimate end goals are to be acquired by another company or to go public. To be able to take a company from start-up to acquisition — a dream of many of our entrepreneur clients and one we have helped clients like 3Tera achieve with their acquisition by CA Technologies – is an incredible feeling knowing you played a role in that success.
  3. You Want to Lead?…Then Lead!
Many PR professionals are Type A, high-achieving personalities who want to take charge and drive campaigns. BLAST provides all the opportunity in the world to prove yourself and begin leading account teams early on. BLAST leadership reminds me of a quote from Theodore Roosevelt: “The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint to keep from meddling with them while they do it.”
  4. The Company We Keep
I’m of course extremely biased (if you couldn’t tell from the first three reasons), but we work with some of the coolest companies in world. From established global companies with $400 million in revenue to startups with only a few employees, we have worked with some of the top technology companies in cloud computing, data storage, software and hardware verticals.
  5. We Play on a National Level
While we certainly help our clients get local media coverage if it aligns with their goals, most companies come to BLAST to get national media coverage. Pitching the Small County Daily Gazette every day can only be fun for so long. At BLAST we’re talking with the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, BusinessWeek, Inc., Wired, and major vertical trade outlets on a daily basis.
  6. Constantly Changing Landscape
With the evolving media landscape and Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube added to the media mix, the PR world is constantly changing. If you like to be learning about new opportunities, new tools, and new ways of getting results for clients, BLAST is my agency of choice.
  7. Every Day is Different
As referenced in #6, the PR and Social Media landscapes are constantly evolving, but within that world we handle traditional media relations, analyst relations, press and trade show support, speaking and award opportunities, thought leadership campaigns, and integrated social media for all of our clients — so every day is different. You could be pitching national business press for one client on Monday and then writing a thought leadership byline article for another client on Tuesday.
  8. The BLAST Team
If you follow the BLAST twitter feed or have been keeping up with the BLAST blog (thank you by the way!), you realize pretty quickly how much we love to get results, but also how much we love to have fun. From our yearly Indiana State Fair trip, to fun holiday celebrations to our daily work environment, there is no shortage of fun and laughter.

Trust me, I could go on and on, but my Social Media colleagues say I need to keep this to a specific word count. If you need more reasons why you should work for BLASTmedia, call or email me and I’d be glad to talk with you. Here at BLAST, we are looking for top-notch B2B PR talent. So here’s the call out for all of you current or future PR rock stars…we look forward to hearing from you.
